After two days of physical testing and team-building exercises, the University of Regina Rams will begin the on-field portion of their 2010 training camp on Friday morning at the team’s on-campus practice facility.

The Rams will have two-a-day practices running from Friday through Monday, with the camp moving to single practices beginning on Tuesday. The camp will wrap up on Friday, August 27 with the Green & Gold Game, which will kick off at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.

Players reported for physical testing on Wednesday night, and made the short trip to Lumsden for an all-day team-building exercise at St. Michael’s Retreat on Thursday.

The Rams, who finished in fourth place in Canada West with a 3-5 record last season, will be led offensively by quarterback Marc Mueller. Mueller controlled Regina’s pass-heavy offence last season, leading the conference in passing yards and completion and finishing second in Canada West with nine touchdown passes.

The team’s top returner on the defensive side of the ball will be fifth-year middle linebacker Bruce Anderson, who recorded 46½ tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions last season.

Following the Green & Gold Game, the team will enter into preparations for its Canada West home opener against the University of Manitoba on Sept. 3 at Mosaic Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
