Slinn places fifth at Grand Prix of Germany

Jasmine Slinn finished in fifth place in the 48 kilogram division at the Grand Prix of Germany in Dormagen over the weekend.
Slinn started off the tournament with a loss to eventual silver medalist Lenka Matejova in the Round of 16. Matejova pinned Slinn at the 5:27 mark to move on to the quarterfinals. Slinn recovered with two consecutive victories in the consolation bracket, defeating Maja Öhrjegård 2-0, 4-0 in the first round and Julita Omilusik by a score of 1-0, 4-2 in the second round.
The win over Omilusik put Slinn into the third-place match at the Grand Prix for the second consecutive year, but Anna Lukasiak took an 0-1, 2-1, 1-0 decision over Slinn to claim the bronze medal.
The meet was the second of Slinn’s European trip, as she also competed at the 13th International Junior Champions Tournament in Ankara, Turkey last weekend.
