The men’s 4x200-metre relay squad led the University of Regina’s track & field teams at the Sled Dog Meet in Saskatoon over the weekend.

Mason Foote, Eric Clark, Les Andersen, and Enyinnah Okere combined to finish the relay in 1:30.78, the fifth fastest time run in the CIS so far this season. The Cougars finished the event four-tenths of a second faster than the second-place Saskatchewan team.

Two other Cougars also finished with gold medals on the men’s side. Tait Nystuen finished the 600-metre run in a time of 1:22.64 to place first, while Justin Baker won the 60-metre hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds.

Foote (60-meter dash, 7.03 s) and Chris Pickering (shot put, 15.42 m) both won silver medals for the Cougars, while Clark took third place in the 300-metre dash with a time of 36.1 seconds.

On the women’s side, Amanda Ruller took first place in the 60-metre dash. Ruller won the event with a season-best time of 7.72 seconds, just over a tenth of a second shy of hitting the CIS standard.

Bronze medals were recorded by both Merissa Margetts (60-metre dash, 7.83 s) and Melissa Petersen (1500-metre run, 4:45.77).
