Duarte wins 'B' final in 200 fly at CIS Championships

The University of Regina’s Linda Duarte represented the Cougars at the 2010 CIS Swimming Championships in Toronto over the weekend, with the fifth-year swimmer’s top finish coming in the 200-metre butterfly.

Duarte recorded a time of 2:18.29 to win the ‘B’ final in the 200 fly and place ninth overall in the event. She also came in fourth place in the ‘B’ final in the 100-metre fly, finishing with a time of 1:02.72 to place 12th overall.

Competing in her fifth national championship in as many seasons as a Cougar, Duarte also finished in 20th place in the 50-metre butterfly (29.10 s) and in 34th place in the 100-metre freestyle (59.55 s).
