The University of Regina’s track & field teams competed at the Prairie Dual in Saskatoon on Saturday, with the Cougars’ performance highlighted by two national standards and one new school record.

Robyn Bauck punched her ticket to her second consecutive CIS championship after meeting the national standard in the triple jump. Bauck’s jump of 11.52 metres won the event and stands as the second longest in the CIS so far this season.

Nicole Breker hit a CIS standard of her own after winning the long jump with a score of 5.67 metres. Breker will travel to Windsor in March to take part in her third national championship in as many seasons as a Cougar.

Chris Pickering finished in second place in the shot put, breaking his own U of R record with a toss of 15.65 metres.

First-place finishes were also recorded by Amanda Ruller (60-metre dash), Les Andersen (60-metre dash), Tait Nystuen (600-metre run), and Jeremy Eckert (high jump).

The teams will travel to Edmonton next weekend to compete in the Golden Bear Open.
