Men drop 23-18 decision to Jamestown College in dual

The University of Regina's men's wrestling team lost to the Jamestown College Jimmies by a 23-18 score on Wednesday night in a dual at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Steven Schneider (125 lbs.), Gilbert Musonza (133 lbs.), Chad Bates (149 lbs.), Gaelan Malloy (157 lbs.), and Brian Lunde (198 lbs.) all recorded wins for the Cougars.

The men’s team will be back in action at the Canada West Championships in Calgary on Feb. 19 and 20.

On the women's side, the Cougars recorded a 16-13 victory. Annie Quangtakoune (44 kg), Jasmine Slinn (55 kg), Meghan King (59 kg), Jillian Durant (63 kg), and Andrea Nillson (72 kg) all won their matches for the Cougars, who were participating in their only scheduled dual match of the season.

Four members of the U of R’s women’s team will travel to Guelph, Ont. this weekend to participate in the Guelph Open.
