Janine Polischuk finished off her CIS career on Saturday with a gold medal on the final day of the 2009 CIS Track & Field Championships in Windsor, Ont., helping the U of R’s women’s team to a sixth-place finish at the event.

Polischuk scored a gold medal in the triple jump with a leap of 12.10 metres on her final attempt to take the victory, giving the fifth-year Cougar her third consecutive CIS gold medal in the event. She also cleared the bar at 1.67 metres in the high jump on Saturday, placing fifth. All told, Polischuk scored 28 of the Cougars’ 44 team points over the three-day meet.
