Eckert hits CIS standard in high jump at Friendship Games

Jeremy Eckert hit his second national standard in as many meets on Saturday, clearing the bar at 2.03 metres to win the high jump at the Friendship Games at the Regina Fieldhouse.
Eckert has now qualified for the 2010 CIS Track & Field Championships in both the long jump and the high jump.
Chris Pickering bettered his own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 15.87 metres, which fell just 28 centimetres short of the CIS standard. Pickering has already qualified for the national championships in the shot put.
Besides Eckert and Pickering,
Connor MacDonald (high jump) has also hit a CIS standard this season for the Cougars.
The Cougars will return to action on Jan. 9 at the Prairie Dual in Saskatoon.
