Despite missing one of its top five runners, the University of Regina’s men’s cross country team finished in second place on Saturday afternoon at the Stewart Cup in Edmonton.

The Cougars, who entered the meet as the No. 6-ranked team in the CIS, finished just two points behind Calgary in the standings.

Despite missing the first three meets of the season, Kelly Wiebe is in top form as he finished in first place with a time of 31:26 on the ten-kilometre course. Wiebe finished over 30 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
