The University of Regina’s men’s basketball team cruised to a 96-63 win over Minot State on Friday night in a non-conference game at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Jamal Williams had a huge double-double for the Cougars, leading all players in both points (23) and rebounds (15) in his 28 minutes on the floor.

Five other Cougars had at least ten points, including Sterling Nostedt (11), Darius Mole (11), Marek Downarowicz (10), Lynn Gee (10), and Kris Heshka (10).

Minot State, which used just seven players during the game, was led by Nathaniel Packineau, who scored a team-high 15 points on 5-for-15 shooting from beyond the arc.

The two teams will play again later this month, as they’ll square off in Minot on Oct. 30.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday with a non-conference game against Williston State College. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
