Steve Burrows is in his 13th season as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball team and in his second season in the same position with the women’s basketball team.
Burrows has extensive coaching experience in the province. He was the head coach of Team Saskatchewan’s Canada Summer Games teams in 1997, 2001, and 2005 and guided the 2005 squad to a bronze medal. Burrows is in his second year as the head coach of the Canada Basketball Centre for Performance and was also the head coach of Team Saskatchewan’s boys’ under-15 team in 2008.
Burrows, who was the head coach at Winston Knoll for 10 seasons, is in his second year as a physical education teacher at Campbell Collegiate. He played for one season with the Cougars, appearing in 18 games for the U of R during the 1990-91 season.
