Solveig Nilson is this week’s Western Cycle Source for Sports U of R Female Athlete of the Week after leading the Cougars in hitting percentage (.379) and service aces (6) during the team’s two-match split against Calgary over the weekend. Nilson, a third-year middle, had 15 kills and just four errors on 29 attacks and also helped out defensively with seven total blocks and 11 digs. For the season, she ranks second on the Cougars in hitting percentage (.294), service aces (19), and total blocks (41). Nilson will receive a Cougar hoodie from Western Cycle Source for Sports for winning the award.
