Carter Smith is this week’s Western Cycle Source for Sports U of R Male Athlete of the Week after helping the men’s hockey team to a critical two-game sweep over the Calgary Dinos. During Friday’s 4-3 shootout win, Smith scored once in regulation, added an assist on Dillon Johnstone’s goal in the final minute of the third period, and scored in the fourth and final round of the shootout. Smith also found the back of the net in Saturday’s 4-2 win, scoring his sixth goal of the season midway through the second period. Smith will receive a Cougar hoodie from Western Cycle Source for Sports for winning the award.
