Rianne Wight (pictured) scored a hat trick to power the University of Regina’s women’s hockey team to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Dinos on Saturday night at the Sherwood Ice Sports Centre. Wight also assisted on a goal by Rae-Lynn Somogyi, giving her a career-high four points for the night.

The University of Regina’s men’s basketball team completed a two-game weekend sweep over Alberta on Saturday night, defeating the Golden Bears 78-73 in a Canada West game in Edmonton. Jeff Lukomski (pictured) had 14 fourth-quarter points, including back-to-back-to-back treys that turned a tie ball game into a nine-point Regina lead.
